Seeking Community Garden Manager

We are currently seeking a volunteer to oversee the operation of the Community Garden in Buxton.

The following activities will be the responsibilities of the Community Garden Manager:

  • Be available to answer questions and provide assistance to potential users of the garden
  • To promote gardening and make it more accessible to the whole community
  • To promulgate and enforce procedures for the operation of the garden
  • To rent raised bed garden plots, provided by Coastal Harvesters, Inc. (CHI)
  • To maintain paperwork, such as rental fees and plot deposits
  • To execute rental agreements with lessees
  • To decide when fees should be waived for low income individuals
  • To encourage those who are financially secure to sponsor plots for those in need through a tax deductible donation to CHI
  • Other duties as assigned
