Need a spot to grow your own fresh, organic vegetables year-round? Coastal Harvesters now has garden sites available for rent at the Hatteras Island Community Garden in Buxton. Each site, comprised of a 4’ x 4’ raised-bed box filled with soil can be leased for a small yearly fee. The garden is located behind Fox Watersport’s parking lot on NC Route 12. It is situated on high ground providing ample protection from flood and wind. Both novice and experienced gardeners are welcomed to join.
“This is an opportunity for community members to gather, garden and learn about sustainable garden practices,” said Bernie Tetreault, vice president of CHI. For more information contact garden co-manager, Carol Bauer at 252-995-0115.

How much exactly is the small yearly fee?
Fee is $20 for a year. If this is unaffordable, then Carol Bauer will try to work out something with you.
