Best Season Ever for Farmers’ Market

The 2016 Farmers Market in Avon was over twice as big as it was in 2015. Due to social media activity by the Coastal Farmers Cooperative and word-of-mouth efforts by some of our longer term vendors, we averaged over twice as many vendors in 2016. We often had over 25 vendors in addition to our two produce vendors, Nicole Spruill of Coastal Farmers Cooperative and Jesse Wray of C and J Produce in Rodanthe. We also extended the market season concluding the Tuesday after Labor Day. Our vendors thought the longer season worked well and they were very happy with attendance during the season. Thanks to Market Manager Susan Myers and our market volunteers Carol Bauer, Jody Haller, Karen Kelmer and Rick Anzolut for their work to keep this terrific community event going strong.
